Spring is just around the corner, so if you’re thinking of selling in 2025, now’s the time to make sure your home is ready for market! Thankfully our VP of Public & Agent Relations, Aubrey Grier and longtime agent Jeff Murdock shared a few expert tips to help make prep a little easier.
Here are their top tips for Charlotte-area sellers this spring.
1. Put in the time and work to prep the house — inside and out. Have your trusted agent at DM tour your home and make a list of items that need to be addressed including window washing, boosting your landscaping, and painting the scuffs. It will be worth the wait!
2. Consider getting a pre-inspection. This will help you avoid surprises when it comes time to make a deal, and it makes the buyer feel more comfortable about their purchase, too.
3. Price it right. Overpriced listings will sit in this market. In order to make the sale, you have to price your home correctly. (Don’t sweat: Our agents are pros at this; we’ll be there to make sure you’re priced appropriately.)
4. Invest in staging. The properties that show well command top-dollar and tend to sell faster.
5. Make the showing experience memorable. You want a buyer to feel something when they are in your house, so play some music, make it sparkling clean, and bust out your favorite candle. If you treat your showings and open house with the care of a dinner party with your people, you’ll be right on track!
6. Make it easy to schedule a showing. Remember, we want people in the door, so the easier it is to get them through, the better!
The good news is, your agent will be with you every step of the way! They can answer all of your questions and make sure your home is a showstopper this spring.
