Another accolade has recently been added to Charlotte’s impressive list! Charlotte was named as one of the best cities in the South by Southern Living for 2023. The magazine’s readers voted for Charlotte to snag the 11th spot on the list, right above Raleigh.
With the honor, Southern Living highlighted the Queen City as a “financial epicenter” with a fantastic food scene, sprawling local parks, concerts, and museums. Subrina and Greg Collier’s restaurant, Leah & Louise, even received a shoutout with the advice to try to snag a reservation. It is a modern juke joint serving up interpretations of Southern classics that honor Mississippi river valley foodways (Memphis, Jackson, Mississippi, and New Orleans).
It’s no wonder that the Queen City is experiencing such rapid growth, thanks to its temperate climate, financial hub, lower-than-average cost of living, and culinary scene.
