Vicky Mitchener, the driving force behind the Dickens Mitchener Real Estate team, founded the Homeowners Impact Fund with the mission to eradicate homelessness in Charlotte. So, in November, the HIF held its inaugural event. We’re proud to say the event raised over $113,000.
The nonprofit’s goal is straightforward but lofty—it counts on the support of others in the industry to make an impact.
“As our real estate market improved, the cost of living pushed so many into the streets and their cars. It felt natural that the industry should give back to our neighbors in crisis,” Mitchener says.
Together, with the help of our community, we made a big step toward HIF’s mission. The inaugural event was held at Myers Park Country Club where dozens of real estate professionals, from investors to lawyers to lenders, gathered for food, cocktails, fun games and a live auction with amazing items up for bid.
“So many friends and competitors mingled and gave willingly to the cause,” Mitchener says. “It was an honor to see the energy around collective giving.”
“We want to find homes for all people, and help those who can’t use our traditional services,” broker and DM leadership team member Aubrey Grier says.
We can’t wait to see what 2025 brings for HIF, as we continue making strides toward uplifting our unhoused neighbors.
Raising over $113,000 doesn’t happen alone.
