The Canopy Housing Foundation (the charitable arm of the Canopy Realtor® Association) donated a record-setting $42,000 to Charlotte Family Housing. These funds will specifically be used to redesign, refurbish, restructure, and restock their MAP (Motivated Achievement Points) “Store.” The store has household necessities that families require when moving from the shelter into supportive housing.
These funds were raised during the 2023 Strides For Shelter 5K that took place on October 22, 2023, at McAlpine Creek Park. The event has grown since its inception and had 650 walkers, runners, and supporters in 2023. The Canopy Housing Foundation has given away over $130,000 to six different beneficiaries through Strides for Shelter race proceeds over the course of the race’s six-year history.
