Talk to a lender before you start looking. There are many mortgage calculators on the internet but those calculators don’t know your credit score, how you get paid, etc. Nothing is more disappointing than looking at homes unknowingly out of your price range.
Talk to your real estate agent about their contract. There’s been a lot of change in our industry around Buyer Agreement contracts. Ask questions and make sure you choose an agent who can walk you through those changes. During this process, you’ll need to make quick choices, so you need to know what to expect.
Prices are still strong in our market. Although mortgage rates have put some pressure on the market broadly, Charlotte still has plenty of demand propping up home prices. Well-priced homes will move fast this spring.
